Five Cadets from WNY Maritime got up early on a Sunday morning of Memorial Day weekend and performed in the City of Lackawanna Memorial Day Ceremony. The event is sponsored by the local Marine Corps League, three American Legion Posts, and a local VFW Post. We had to show the USMC flag in honor of our hosts.
The Cadets did an amazing job.


Tonight we honored Maritime's Top 3 academic leaders at the 44th Annual SARD dinner joined by the other top 245 scholars in WNY. Congratulations to our cadets! We are so very proud of you!!

Eight Cadets from WNY Maritime Charter School helped out with a flag folding ceremony at Hospice Buffalo this morning. Every Thursday before Memorial Day and Veterans Day, Cadets from WNY Maritime assist in recognition ceremonies for Hospice Buffalo. They honor the Veterans currently in hospice care and the help make sure the staff at Hospice Buffalo understand the valuable service Veterans have done for our country. The Cadets did an amazing job this morning as per usual.




In a dominating game of complementary football, the Lady Seahawks posted a shutout game scoring 26-0 against Lewiston-Porter High School. #GoSeahawks

Yesterday, Cadets from WNY Maritime led the Lackawanna St Patrick’s Day Parade after a ceremony in the Our Lady of Victory Basilica. It is jokingly named the “World’s Shortest St Patrick’s Day Parade” with about 100 steps west on Ridge Road from in front of the Basilica to the front of the Lackawanna City Hall. The Lackawanna Mayor and members of the City Council were present and also a representative from the County Executive Office was there. The Cadets did an amazing job!



Friday afternoon, cadets in the Maritime Careers class had the opportunity to tour the Longshed at Canalside and check the progress of the 73' Packet Boat being built. They also got to help build it by cleaning and scraping hull after the sealant dried.





Friday, our Air Rifle Team traveled to Cicero NY for New York State American Legion Championship. The team shoot well and had a great time in and around the competition.

Next week is Regents/Midterm week at the high school. Cadets should check their email or Google Classroom for the exam schedule.
Also, there will be no Saturday School or Detention this weekend either.

Nine members from the Orienteering team traveled to Camp Ernst KY for the 2023-24 Area 14/15 Orienteering Championship. The Maritime Freshman team placed 4th overall! Cadet Jayvon Robinson individually placed 3rd and Cadet Freddie Molina for placed 7th.
They stopped in Cleveland on the way home and took a tour of the Coast Guard Cutter NEAH BAY, the cadets had a blast exploring the 140' icebreaking cutter.










Thirteen Cadets visited Niagara University today. The Admissions Office provided a tour of the campus and discussed the pros of going to Niagara University. Cadet Eric Lebron (former WNY Maritime Battalion Commanding Officer) was one of the tour guides. He is in the Army ROTC program and gets Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Army Reserve next year. The Army ROTC discussed scholarships and life after graduation. The university also allowed the Cadets to eat in the dining facility with the students on campus.



Join our new student section the Maritime Maniacs this basketball season! Maritime Maniacs shirts will go on sale tomorrow for $10, this will give students FREE admission to all Maritime JV and Varsity games this basketball season. Our first HOME game will be December 4th starting at 5pm at Villa Maria College. This will be a WHITEOUT game for our student section. Come support your Maritime Commodores!

Nine Cadets from WNY Maritime helped American Legion Veterans and some Army JROTC Cadets from McKinley High School pick up flags at Veterans gravesites at Forest Lawn Cemetery this afternoon. There were over 8,000 flags and everyone finished within two hours.

Twelve Cadets from WNY Maritime took time from their Friday off from school to go to the South Buffalo Safire Rehabilitation Center to help out in their Veterans Celebration. The center wanted to thank all of the resident Veterans. The Cadets did a Color Guard, handed out Veteran themed centerpieces to each Veteran, talked to the residents, and took photos with the residents.
It was a great life experience for both the Cadets and the residents.
