Timeline for Juniors
Junior Year Timeline
Fall
- Stay on track with grades
- Create a list of colleges you are considering
- Organize a test plan (SAT, ACT, ASVAB) and familiarize yourself with the test
- Take the PSAT
Winter
- Prepare to take the ASVAB
- Narrow down college choices
- Register to take the SAT in MAY during Junior Seminar
Spring
- Attend Spring Open Houses for colleges (do when colleges are still in session)
- Consider getting a summer job/internship/job shadowing
- Take SAT or ACT and/or register for next test date
- Meet with your school counselor in Junior Seminar to discuss tentative list of colleges/universities
- Learn as much as you can about each college that you are considering
- Make a list of teachers, counselors, employers, and adults to write letters of recommendation.
- Complete brag sheet and give to those teachers you've asked to write letters of recommendation
Summer 

- Review sample college applications and begin to gather the information needed to complete them
- Continue to investigate colleges
- Begin thinking about your college essay
- Re-register for SAT/ACT if needed
